Combined Summer Youth Audition Announcement:
Cinderella Youth Edition & Beetlejuice Jr.

AUDITION DATES:
April 3, 2025: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
April 5, 2025: 11:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Video auditions will be accepted until 7PM on Saturday April 5th - video auditions can be sent to: beetlejuicestaff@gmail.com

AGE REQUIREMENTS:
Cinderella Youth Edition: Performers aged 6–18.
Beetlejuice Jr.: Performers aged 7–18

WHAT TO PREPARE:
Cinderella Youth Edition:

Song: Prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show (songs from the show are welcome).

Accompaniment: You may bring a karaoke/backing track or sing a cappella.

Additional Audition Components: Auditions will include singing, a cold reading if necessary, and range determination.

Conflicts: Bring a list of any conflicts from April 13 – June 25.

Beetlejuice Jr.:
Song: Prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show. Songs from Beetlejuice Jr. are acceptable.

Accompaniment: Bring a karaoke/backing track—no a cappella or live accompaniment.

Additional Audition Components: Auditions will include singing, a cold read (if necessary), and you may be asked to demonstrate a dance skill or share a joke.

What to Wear: Wear whatever you feel confident in!

Conflicts: Bring a list of any conflicts from May 1 – July 20.

Beetlejuice Jr.
Lydia Deetz: Whip-smart, grieving 15-year-old with a dark sense of humor who helps herself cope with the loss of her mother. Unfazed by Beetlejuice’s antics and holds her own against the Netherworld.
Vocal range: A3 – E5

Charles Deetz: Lydia's father, struggling to help Lydia while dealing with his own grief and relationship issues.
Vocal range: Bb3 – F5

Beetlejuice: The titular dead guy, zany, spooky, and hilarious. A morally gray trickster who is always looking out for himself.
Vocal range: G3 – E5

Adam Maitland: Devoted husband, not ready for death. His life stresses catch up with him, especially after his sudden demise.
Vocal range: Bb3 – Eb5

Barbara Maitland: Adventurous and kind, but strong-willed. Barbara bonds with Lydia after death.
Vocal range: A3 – D5

Delia Schlimmer: Hopelessly optimistic and sometimes maniacal, she believes in her guru Otho and works hard to fit in with the Deetz family.
Vocal range: G2 – C#5

Maxie Dean: The business tycoon Charles hopes to impress.
Vocal range: C4 – C5

Sky: A character who brings energy to the show.
Vocal range: G3 – C5

Miss Argentina: A former beauty queen in the Netherworld, she greets the recently dead and leads “What I Know Now.”
Vocal range: A3 – D5

Maxine Dean: Maxie’s fourth or fifth wife.

Otho: Delia’s guru and occasional exorcist.

Juno: Beetlejuice’s mother, who runs the recently deceased intake with an iron fist.

Ensemble: Includes the Priest, The Recently Deceased (Parachute Jumper, Death by Toaster, Dead Cheerleader, etc.), Mourners, Movers, Lawyers, Girl Scouts, Caiter-Waiter, Beetlejuice Clones, Cheerleaders, Studio Audience, and Sandworm!

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Auditions for Cinderella Youth Edition and Beetlejuice Jr. will be held at the same time, **but please note that we will not be cross-casting the same leads for both productions.
You may audition for both shows, but you will only be cast in one lead role (either Cinderella Youth Edition or Beetlejuice Jr.).
